Biography
Professor Nehal Afifi has worked at Pharmacology Department, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University from 1997 till now and Head of Pharmacology Department from 2009 to 2011. Associate Professor of Pharmacology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University, 1992. Lecturer, of Pharmacology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, 1987. Assistant Lecturer of Pharmacology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, 1985. Demonstrator at Pharmacology Department, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, 1981. She is a member of American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET) and member of the scientific committee for Veterinary Drugs Registration, Ministry of Health, Central Administration for Pharmaceutical Affairs.
Research Interest
Expertise in Immunopharmacology and investigate the effect of Veterinary drugs and feed additives on the immune response to various animal vaccines especially in poultry, food- producing animals and fish. Expertise in environmental pollutants, insecticides and heavy metals particularly their effect on immunity. Works and research in the area of Clinical Pharmacology & drug therapy as evaluation of new pharmaceutical compounds or medicinal plants for pharmacological and toxic effects. She has Specific experience in Pharmacokinetics profile of Veterinary drugs in different animal species with special reference to drugs residue as well as the Pharmacodynamics / Pharmacokinetics interaction (PD/PK).
